Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system that provides reliable positioning, navigation, and timing services. It uses a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense to allow users to accurately locate where they are and easily navigate where they want to go with three-dimensional location (latitude, longitude, and altitude) plus the time.
