About the tarts...

Welcome to techtarts.com— Our mission is to provide an engaging environment for women to learn about all things tech in subjects that matter to you without having to search through the boring fine print or cumbersome, often unhelpful help files. Need a new camera? Computer? Phone? We give the ladies the low-down without the overkill techie talk, and meanwhile entertain, comfort and inspire you.

We also have a lot of friends—an entire community of tech-savvy women—who want to contribute their expertise to helping other women, their families and the community at large. We are brought together by a passion for eliminating the intimidation many women have about technology and showing that any woman can and should tap their inner-techy-geek…and that you certainly don’t have to relinquish your femininity to do so.

TechTarts features video “tartorials”: step-by-step instructions to help the “technically-challenged” solve problems and gain confidence on subjects like how to secure precious media, make the most of an iPhone or Blackberry and (while we’re at it) how to navigate the best online dating sites, and much, much more.  From Botox to Bandwidth, cellulite or cell phones, we answer the questions today’s woman might prefer to learn in the privacy of her own home office and present it in ways you will appreciate.

Rachel Anderson - tt.r Videographer hearts: dark chocolate and free popcorn refills at the movies
Scours the world for: the perfect breakfast; coffee, omelet, and bananas. YUM!

Bouncing all over the globe to videotape diverse cultures jumpstarted her interest in technology through editing and transferring footage across oceans.  Her role as videographer and contributor for tart.tube will provide visually informative answers to all those tricky technology questions. After acquiring a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Rachel has spent her time producing documentaries and long format projects for PBS in Nebraska, a Fulbright blog based in Egypt, ANDRILL (an international climate research project based in Antarctica), and most recently for her own media company, Ishta Productions.

When she is not hiding behind a camera lens, Rachel is bee bopping around San Francisco searching for her next caffeine fix, running along the Embarcadero, hanging out at The Pad in downward dog, jet setting through the clouds, or people watching while sipping cava in Dolores Park.
